What We Do
Who We Are
Q: Is there a limit on the number of project applications I can submit for each deadline?
A: No, we'll read every idea that you submit!

Q: What is the maximum amount of money that I can request for a project?
A: Our current grants go up to $1,000.

Q: Is this a scholarship?
A: No. Students Serve grants fund volunteer service projects and do not pay tuition costs.

Q: Do I have to be a U.S. citizen to get a serviceship?
A: No, but you do have to do your project in the U.S.

Q: Are nontraditional students and students in community college eligible?
A. Yes.

Q: Does GPA matter?
A: Yes and no. We ask for your GPA to learn more about who you are and the type of student you are. Good grades certainly help. However, don't let a low GPA keep you from applying. We never disqualify anyone based on their grades.

Q: Will Students Serve fund living expenses during service projects?
A: No, the grants cover the costs of implmenting a project but not personal living costs.
